ABOUT US AND OUR KENNEL

It all started when we saw our first Gordon at our local obedience class while working with our newly acquired Golden Retriever. We had just recently lost our 14 year old Irish Setter.
It just so happened that this person having the Gordon's (Cindy Rhine) knew of someone that was having puppies, and we could have the first pick if we wanted. Cindy picked out our puppy for us and we named him Sherlock, since our Golden was named Watson.
So our Kennel name began - Baker Street. We only wanted a pet, but secretly Cindy told Bill and Crystal Todor that she could get us to show Sherlock in conformation. How she knew that I would, I will never know.
I guess she could see my competitive nature from the obedience class:-).
We took Sherlock to his first show at the Midwest Specialty in May of 1990. After our first ribbon, we were hooked! Little did we know what a nice conformation dog we had. All we knew, was that he was a wonderful dog to live with. Sherlock exceeded all of our expectations and there will never be another like him.
We can see a lot of his personality coming out in his son Holmes.
I guess when we named Holmes - Baker St. Return of Sherlock Holmes - it was really an omen....
We have made so many new friends throughout the last 20 years,
and I can honestly say they have been the best years of our lives.
